Double Chocolate Cake - Extremely Chocolaty Birthday Cake YUM
It was my husbands 29th Birthday yesterday and he has become a cake monster the past few months. So the kids and I decided to make him an extremely chocolaty birthday cake. I mean this thing was a chocolate cake filled with the best chocolate filling, covered in chocolate buttercream and smothered in hand curled milk and white chocolate. This cake is a chocolate lovers delight!

Go Deigo Go

This cake was so fun to make! I usally make my figurines from a combination of fondant and gumpaste but decided to try and make them from modeling chocolate this time. I can't believe how much easier modeling chocolate is compared to fondant/gumpaste. Deigo was so easy to make not to mention he tasted like tootsie rolls.

Deigo and baby jaguar were made from different colours of modeling chocolate. The '3' was made from fondant with gumtext added.
The cake was an 8" chocolate cake with cookies and cream mousse filling and covered in buttercream icing.

The decorations around the cake were made from both modeling chocolate and fondant.

Surprise 50th Birthday Cake
This cake was made for a surprise party for my friends mom Kathy. The colours for the party were green and black so we wanted to incorporate those colours into the cake. I was given a picture of cake but we changed the colours and design a little and came up with this cake.

The 6" top tier and the 8" middle tiers are made from rice krispy treats and covered in fondant. My friend wanted to have the height and grandeur of a three tiered cake but didn't need all the cake so we used rice kripsies as 'dummy cake'...mind you the rice kripies covered in buttercream and fondant are really good to munch on!
The bottom 10" cake is chocolate cake filled with vanilla buttercream and covered in fondant. All the decorations including the bow and spirals are made from fondant.

I had a lot of fun making the bow, I kind of changed the design of the bow last minute but I'm glad I did, I'm really happy with how this cake turned out!

Gerber Daisy Cake

This cake was made for a friends 28th birthday. It's an 8" chocolate cake filled with peanut butter buttercream filling. The cake is covered in vanilla buttercream.
The boarder is made from fondant using my new silicon pearl mould...new cake tools are very exciting for me lol!
The gerber daisy's are all made from a fondant gumpaste mix.
