Classic, Elegant Rose Cake - Gumpaste Rose

Though this cake was little, only a 6", it took me hours to make! All the petals on the outside of the cake are made from gumpaste. They were cut, then using an impression mat, veined and then each edge of every petal was rolled to make them look realistic. I had to make the pedals a few days in advance as the cake had to be refrigerated and I didn't want the pedals to go limp from any moisture in the fridge.
The gumpaste rose topper was made the same way as the petals on the sides of the cake. I had to make each petal individually and then bend and attach it to the rose.

Minion Birthday Cake

This cake was massive!! It was made from 4, 8" cakes stacked and carved! It was then covered in buttercream, then fondant and then decorated to look like a happy minion :)

Bubble Guppies Birthday Cake

My Niece just turned two!!! It's crazy how fast the time goes once you have kids!
Her FAVORITE show is Bubble Guppies so her Aunty Tor had to make her a special bubble guppies cake and matching outfit!

All Bubble Guppies were cut by hand and hand painted...which took hours!!

Love the way it turned out though!!
Of course I had to make the birthday girl a special outfit!! Outfit details can be found at Little Birds Tutus & Boutique

30th Birthday Hunting Cake

This cake took FOREVER!! All the black fondant pieces had to be cut by hand which took me a few hours :/
The cake is painted to give it that 'sunset' glow. There is so much going on but I love how it all comes together!! I especially love who it is a reflection of the birthday boy :) Fishing, hunting and atv'ing!

Elsa Frozen Cake

ELSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FROZEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm SURE I'm not the only parents who knows all the words to ALL the songs from the movie Frozen.
I was asked to make a frozen cake and this is what I came up with. It is covered in buttercream.

What better way to cap off a Frozen birthday party then with a frozen outfit! Both outfits were created by Little Birds Tutus & Boutique

Spiderman Cake

Love this cake. Spiderman was hand sculpted and the skyline was hand cut from fondant.

Buttercream Painted Nature Cake

I was so scared to try painting on buttercream icing! I had painted on fondant before but NEVER buttercream.

I was asked to make a Nature cake and had free reign on the design. I love to paint so I thought I would try to paint a scene on this cake.

The chairs on top are made from fondant. These are the first 'Muskoka Chairs' I have made from fondant they were a little tricky BUT they turned out!

All side of the cake were painted by hand using vodka and food gels.

Monster Truck Cake

What little boy doesn't love Monster Trucks? I was asked to make this cake for a friends son's 3rd birthday. I love the way it turned out. The trucks were all hand cut

Nautical 1st Birthday Cake | Nautical smash cake

This, believe it or not, is a smash cake. I was asked by my very talented friend, Karen Cooper, to make this for one of her clients. The boat, life savers and rope are all made from fondant.
I will post the cake smash and professional photos once I get them :)

Homemade Mini Pies!

These babies took me FOREVER to make! I made 4 and 1/2 dozen mini pies and 1 and 1/2 mini cheesecakes for a Bridal Shower.
The pies are 100% homemade from the pastry, to the strawberry rhubarb, raspberry and apple fillings!

1st Birthday Mickey Cake

I love the way this cake turned out. It's a 6" top and a 8" bottom  with rice krispies for the feet and the mickey head. Both cakes were vanilla with cookies and cream buttercream filling.

I was told the cake was  HUGE hit at the party....this is what was left over LOL

Elmo Cake Pops | Elmo Cupcake Toppers | Cookie Monster Cupcake Toppers

My best friends little guy just turned 2! CRAZY!!! I was super busy with orders that weekend so she asked if I could make a few cupcake toppers for her and few cake pops in an Elmo theme. She baked the cake for the cake pops and all the cupcakes.

The cake pops were very fun to make, VERY time consuming as there were so many steps to get him to look 'fury' but well work it :)

My Little Pony Cake | Rainbow Dash Cake | Girls 5th Birthday Cake | My Little Pony Party

My youngest daughter just turned the BIG 5!!!! She is so in love with My Little Pony especially Rainbow Dash!
Not only was this her 5th birthday it was her first birthday that she got to invite her school friends! She was so excited to celebrate her birthday with all her favorite people.

My challenge was to pull off a fun party for 5 year olds, one with a peanut allergy and not break the bank!!

First thing I figured out were the games! The kids really loved both games but the balloon pop game was the favorite! We put little erasers, Jolly Ranchers, My Little Pony Tattoos and some peanut free hard candies into the balloons and blew them up. We pinned them on a cork board and each child got to pop two balloons. If you do this let the balloons sit out in the sun for 20 mins or so before you start popping makes them WAY easier to pop. We used a magic wand with a tac hot glued to the end to pop the balloons.
Pin the tail on Rainbow Dash. I printed a large picture of Rainbow Dash and taped it all together and got my Daughter to colour it in. I bought curly ribbons that you put on presents and taped them onto magnets!
We had a house full of people and it was sunny out, a little chilly but sunny so we had the party mostly outside!

I used mason jars and filled them with water and used food gels to dye the water into different colors. I bought some white daisies and VoilĂ  simple center pieces. I also hit up the Bulk Bran and bought some rainbow candies and rainbow twizzlers which are peanut free!!
I also made Pony ears and unicorn horn headbands for all the kids to wear at the party.

 Rainbow fruit tray!!

Rainbow Cupcakes - Vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream with rainbow sugar licorice.
The birthday girl in her shirt that I made with her rainbow cupcake :)

Here is he beautiful birthday girl in her custom made Rainbow Dash outfit with the ears and horn we made. Little Birds Tutus & Boutique, which is my other little side business, made the tutu set

This is the cake that I made for the family party we had later in the evening. The 8" cake is a chocolate chip cake with vanilla buttercream filling. The rainbow balls around the outside are gum balls, the rainbow on top is fondant and the pony on top is one of Olivia's figurines.
