Dinosaur Cake

I was asked to make a 5th birthday cake for a friends son who is in love with dinosaurs. We looked at a few design options and decided to go with a T-Rex/volcano scene.



I wasn't sure how I was going to make the T-Rex look real. I hand cut him out of fondant and after lots of playing, dotting, coloring and layering I got something that I thought could pass as a dinosaur. All the decorations are made from fondant and are 100% edible.



The 8" square cake is vanilla and is filled with cookies and cream buttercream.
