Mom's Birthday Cake
This is the cake I made for my mom's birthday. It's a 6" chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and covered in marshmallow fondant.
The reindeer was scupted from modeling chocolate. This was my first time making and playing with modeling chocolate. It was a lot of fun to work with though it did become VERY frustrating at times.
It took me a while to get the right shape of the reindeer. My first attempted looked more like a dinosaur than a deer lol.
Once the reindeer was shaped and dried I painted it with edible luster dust. The reindeer is completely edible but it does have some supports in the body.
Snowflakes are made from royal icing. The "snow" is buttercream with edible sparkles.

Family Dinner
This 6" cake was made for a family dinner. I just wanted an excuse to try some new flowers I had seen online, flower is gumpaste and fondant mixed.
Fondant covered chocolate cake with vanilla and chocolate whipped filling. The fondant job on the cake is horrible, I didn't feel like making two different kinds of icing - one for filling and one for under the fondant, which is what I normally do. The filling is very light and shifts alot, hence the lumpy, bumpy fondant. But I must say the flower looks nice!

3rd Birthday Cake - Dora and Boots
This 8" square cake was made for a friend's little girl who turned three. Like many preschoolers her favorite character is Dora and Boots. With that in mind I made this cake.
The cake is a rainbow chip with a faux whipped cream vanilla filling, the torted filling layers where dyed pink, yellow and purple to make the cake a little more fun.
Dora is made from a fondant and gumpaste mix and is 100% edible. I tried to remember all of her accessories but Hailey told me I forgot to put the star pockey on backpack....my bad lol. Dora turned out a bit more neanderthal than I would have liked...lesson learned, don't touch the head until it is completely dry.
Here's Backpack
Side view of Dora and Map
And my favorite character Boots.
Boots is made from a fondant and gumpaste mix aswell.

Wedding Shower Cake
6" and 8" vanilla cake filled with vanilla buttercream filling and covered in sage buttercream icing.
All the flowers are made from gumpaste and are edible, the lilies do have wires to help with support.
This cake had an unfortunate accident while being transported....tears...but I'm told it still tasted good.

Under The Sea
Under The Sea 60th birthday cake was SOOOOOO fun to make. All the sea creatures were made by hand and are 100% edible.
The 8" cake is a vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream filling.
The coral on top is made of chocolate.
I really wanted the 60 to be free standing but it is so humid out I was worried it would start to fall.
The sand is brown sugar.
The white standing coral is royal icing.

1st Birthday Baseball Cake
This cake was made for a member of our family who was turning the big one.
The cake is chocolate fudge with vanilla fudge buttercream filling. The cake was based around napkins and plates that were bought, it was a sports themed cake.
The base ball and bat are made of rice krispies and covered in fondant.
The hat and the shoes are made of gumpaste and are completely edible.
Live, Laugh, Love
This 8" Square cake was made for a very dear friend of mine. The only thing she asked for was a dark purple base and I was left to come up with the rest.
She loves Hibiscus flowers and the saying, Live, Laugh, Love suits her to a T.
This 8" cake is a chocolate fudge cake with a layer of vanilla cake and filled with vanilla buttercream icing.

25th Birthday Cake
I made this cake for my 25th birthday. I love hibiscus flowers and really wanted to have a cake with them as the focal point. I tried to go with a simple design for the rest of the cake so the hibiscus flowers would grab your attention.
The cake is a 6" and 8" cake and is covered in chocolate fondant with pink bands around the bottom.
Both 6" and 8" rounds are chocolate cake with vanilla fudge filling.
The hibiscus on top and side are made of gumpaste. I used floral wire to help give the hibiscus petals some support.

50th Birthday Cake
This cake was really fun to make, the theme of the party was Camaro! The clients didn't care what the design was as long as it was based around a Camaro.
Both 8" and 6" rounds are Vanilla Cake filled with Chocolate Buttercream.
The Cake is covered in marshmallow fondant with fondant details.
The Camaro on top and the wheels around the bottom are made of rice krispy treats and covered in fondant.
This was my first attempt at making a car and I am very happy with the results. The weather was working against me while making this cake as it has been so humid but it turned out as I had planned.

Hibiscus Flowers
I am already planning my birthday cake, since I'm turing the big 25!! I wanted to have a cake with Hibiscus flowers on it as they are one of my favorite flowers.
These were actually really easy to make which really surprised me. They only thing is they are soooo fragile, I made 4 and I broke three of them. I do have a problem with touching my flowers before they're dry...lessons are always learned the hard way, sigh...
These hibiscus are made from gumpaste, they are almost 100% edible, I used floral staman's and painted them to get a more realistic look.

4th Birthday Party
My daughter just turned 4 and to celebrate we had a big party for her. What better way to celebrate then to be surrounded by friends and family and have a cake fit for a princess.
This 3 tiered cake was created espectially for my little princess. The cake is alternating layers of vanilla and strawberry cake with strawberry and vanilla filling. The cake is covered in marshmallow fondant and decorated with fondant details. There are 372 hand made pearls that make up the boarder of each tier. The butterflies and princess tiara on top are made of royal icing.
These hello kitties were so much fun to make! They are rice crispies that have been shaped and dipped in white chocolate then decorated to look like hello kitty.
My daughter went nuts over these as did some of the adults. These pretty little kitties make wonderful party favours for kids. The character possibilities are endless for these cute little creations.
These little creations are very simple to make but taste great and kids just LOVE them.
The marshmallows are attached to the candy stick, drizzled with milk chocolate and pink chocolate. The tops were then dipped in white chocolate and covered in pink sprinkes. Wrap them in candy wrappers and tie with a bow and you have excellent party favours!

Paintball 25th Birthday Cake
This cake was made for my sister's boyfriend. He doesn't like cake much but LOVES reese's peanut butter cups so I made - with me sister's help - a reese's peanut buttercup cheese cake.
To make the cake more personalized I made a paintball helmet - which is suppose to be a paintball mask lol - out of rice crispy's and covered it in gumpaste. I also made a paintball gun and the happy birthday sign out of gumpaste.
For someone that doesn't like cake he sure lapped this cake up!

Father's Day Cake
This 2 tiered cake was made for a father's day celebration for my family. Both 6" and 8" are freckled mocha cake and have a chocolate hazalnut buttercream filling. Both cakes are covered in chocolate fondant, the swirls are made of chocolate fondant and painted with edible gold paint.
This was my first time making chocolate fondant and I had A LOT of difficultly with it. I made a small batch of chocolate fondant that turned out great but when I tripled the recipe the consistency of the fondant changed. If I had more time I would have remade my fondant, I wish I would have becasue I am NOT happy with the top half of the cake. Due to the condition of the fondant -DRY- it cracked when I tried to use my impression mat...just what I needed. I tried to hide the cracks on the bottom of the top tier with a band of fondant and then I tried to paint on the diamond pattern which didn't turn out too great either. I almost smashed the top tier I was so disappointed in it...but I needed the cake. On the up side the cake was DELICIOUS!
