Construction 2nd Birthday Cake

This cake was so much fun to make!! The birthday boy LOVES anything to do with construction so what better way than to celebrate with a Construction Cake!!

8" cake is chocolate with cookies and cream filling.  The construction hat on top is made from rice kripy treats covered in fondant with a fondant 2. The pylons are made from fondant and the 'rocks' are chocolate rocks.

All the construction equipment: dump trucks and digger are all hand cut from fondant.

Happy 2nd Birthday Carter!!!!

I will have an adorable construction smash cake post coming up soon too!! Just waiting for the AMAZING photos from the talented Karen Copper from K.C Photography!!

Bob the Builder and Thomas the Train Birthday Cake | 2nd Birthday Cake

This cake took me HOURS upon hours to make!! All the figurines are hand made and 100% edible. I was asked to make a combo cake of Bob the Builder and Thomas the Train. Cake is an 8" vanilla with cookies and cream filling.

Winnie-the-Pooh 2nd Birthday Cake

I was asked to make a Winnie-the-Pooh themed cake for a friends daughters 2nd birthday. I wasn't really sure where to go with the design for the cake as it was a small 6" round...which doesn't give you a lot of space to decorate...especially with what I had in mind lol

So I went with the basics, Winnie and his buddy piglet, some flowers and of course a honey pot with some bees. I'm happy with how Pooh bear turned out but I had an unfortunate accident with my first piglet which I loved and he was...well...garbage :( My second one isn't as nice...might have been because I was a wee bit frustrated I had to remake him. I also got some awesome edible sparkles which I'm in love with and want to use on everything...but I figured I'd only glitterize the 2 :)

Dora the Explorer 2nd Birthday Cake

This cake was made for a friends daughters second birthday. Her favorite cartoon character is Dora the Explorer and Boots. The cake is a 10" chocolate cake with faux whipped cream filling - it has the texture and taste of whip cream but it isn't.

The cake was covered in fondant with fondant decorations.
This is my second attempt at making a Dora figurine. I learned a lot from the last Dora I made so this one turned out a bit better...not so neaderthalish lol.
