Buttercream Coach Purse

6" vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. The coach symbol was hand painted with food gel and all deocrations are fondant. I would have LOVED to make the purse covered in fondant to give it a smoothe and real finish but buttercream was the desired icing.

I'm really happy with the way the zipper and buckle turned out.

Engagement Cake

This cake was made for two of my best friends. I went with a his and her theme to incorporate both peronalities into the cake. The top tier is a marble cake with peanut butter buttercream and caramel and the bottom is vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and caramel. Due to the caramel, which is homemade without a candy thermometer so I undercooked it a tad bit, the cakes shifted once the fondant was applied, hence the bumpy look to the tiers.

The anemone is made from fondant with tylose powder added.

The skeleton was hand cut from a picture I printed online. It took a while to get the details the way I wanted but I am very happy with the end result.

Gumpaste Figurine

I saw a tutorial online and wanted to try it out, here is my attempt at a girl figurine.

I need to work on doing the eyes...there are just so small!

1st Birthday Pillow Cake

This was my first time making a pillow cake. The top tier is rice krispy treats (rkt) craved and covered in fondant. The botton tier is a 8" vanilla cake filled with vanilla & chocolate buttercream and covered in marshmallow fondant(mmf). Carving the rkt's was easy but the cake was another story! I was worried I was cutting off too much of the cake. Lesson learned next time go with a cake one size bigger so you carve the shape you want and stil have enough cake.

This is my second royal icing tiara. I drew out the design I wanted piped the royal icing and painted it with edible paint once it was dry.

All decorations are made from marshmallow fondant. The flowers on the botton tier were cut and then stuck onto the pillow. Once they were dry they were painted with pink edible glitter paint.

1st Birthday Cake

This 10" vanilla cake was made for a friend's daughters first birthday. It is filled with vanilla buttercream and covered in purple marshmallow fondant.

All decorations are made of fondant. The theme was balloons which was based on the plates bought for the party. The cake surface was so big that I needed to incorporate something else to make it look full. This is why I did the bow and the little baby bunny.

Cake Balls in Chococlate Box

The chocolate box was made by using wax paper and some cardboard. I have a small chocolate box moulding set from when I was a kid but it just wasn't big enough to hold all those little yummy cake balls!!

Muskoka Themed Baby Shower Cake

This cake was soo much fun to make. It was made for a friend's cousin's baby shower. I was shown a picture of the nursery room and asked to make the cake look like the nursery.

This is a picture of the nursery room. I tried to capture the main elements of the room to bring the cake to life.

The cake is a 10" vanilla cake filled with chocolate buttercream and covered in pink marshmallow fondant.
All the animals are hand made using a fondan gumpaste mix.

The waterfall and lake were made my using blue marshmallow fondant and painting tinited piping gel overtop. The boat and beavers are made from fondant.

I carried the nature landscape around the rest of the cake making every part of the nice to look at. The grass is buttercream tinted green and the all the tree's are fondant.
